Funk Fest 2024 to Energize Columbus in August

COLUMBUS, Ohio – (June 27, 2024) – Funk Fest 2024 presented by Summer614 is set to take center stage on Saturday, August 10, at the Columbus Commons, bringing together some of the most beloved funk legends for an unforgettable evening of music and nostalgia.
“We’re excited to bring such an incredible lineup of funk legends to the Columbus Commons for year two,” said Bobby Ferguson, event organizer. “This year’s Funk Fest promises to be an unforgettable celebration of music, community, and culture. We can’t wait to see everyone come together for an evening of timeless hits.”
Headliners and Performers
Headlining the event is Morris Day, renowned for his hits “Jungle Love” and “Jerk Out,” both produced by the late artist Prince. The lineup also features Dayton’s own Zapp, known for their classics “More Bounce to the Ounce” and “Doo Wa Ditty,” as well as Con Funk Shun, famous for “Ffun” and “Shake and Dance with Me”. These iconic performers are set to deliver electrifying sets that celebrate the rich heritage of funk music.

Proceeds from Funk Fest 2024 will support the 22nd Foundation, which is dedicated to exposing and educating youth in underserved communities to diverse sports options and healthy lifestyles. The foundation provides high quality coaching in tennis, baseball, golf, lacrosse, and field hockey, helping youth develop leadership, sportsmanship, confidence, discipline, courage, accountability, teamwork, and overall health awareness.
