The United States Patent and Trademark Office Awards Freedom Williams C+C Music Factory Brand

UPDATED FRIDAY, JULY 13

New York City, NY—July 12, 2018— Freedom Williams Entertainment is happy to announce the trademark battle over the C+C Music Factory brand is over. The United States Patent and Trademark Office dismissed the latest appeal by Robert Clivilles a former member of the multi-platinum 90’s pop group.

The battle over the name began in 2005 after Freedom Williams registered the name to continue touring and create new music under the C+C Music Factory moniker.

According to Williams, “For over the past 25+ year, fans have associated my image with the C+C Music Factory brand and I have represented the C&C trademark with honor, integrity, and professionalism better than anyone.” He continues, I am happy to be free to do what I love which is to create new music and tour without the burden of worrying about a fight. “

The timing of the ruling from the USPTO is just in time for the new release celebrating the 25th Anniversary of the groundbreaking hit “Gonna Make You Sweat.”  Williams is in the process of releasing a series of collectives called Sweat25th featuring popular EDM artists OBEK, Rockwell Noize, Deck-R with BeefyBankz (LBC Crew), Red Rock Dirt Band, GB Cortez and the “Stevie Wonder” of Hip Hop, B Taylor.

The collectives are being released under Sony Orchard/BMG in conjunction with 50/50 Global EDM that is headed by artist Qwess Kross. The single featuring the Billboard charted artist B Taylor is scheduled to drop on Friday, July 13.
