Central Ohio Nonprofit S.T.A.R.S., Striving to Achieve Real Success, Launches Music Video Tribute to Ohio to Spread Message of Unity

S.T.A.R.S. students and musicians from all over the state of Ohio come together to perform Beautiful by Grammy Nominee Mali Music.

COLUMBUS, Ohio, June 24, 2020—In response to current events, Central Ohio based nonprofit focused on music education and personal development S.T.A.R.S., Striving to Achieve Real Success, has released a music video tribute to Ohio called “Ohio You’re Beautiful”.  The video uses the song Beautiful by Grammy Nominee Mali Music.

“The inspiration behind the video came to me as I was watching the news and social media,” said S.T.A.R.S. Founder and Executive Director Chris Powell. “There is so much hurt right now, and I firmly believe music heals the soul—I knew we needed to do something as an organization, and music is what we do best.”

Powell organized his students, faculty, as well as musicians from all over the state of Ohio, and with a little brainstorming, Ohio, You’re Beautiful was born. The entire video was produced in less than 3 weeks from start to finish. “It took an amazing village of talented professionals and eager students working around the clock,” said Powell.

The video highlights the themes of unity, peace, and love and features not just program students and musicians, but also Ohio landmarks, cities, communities, and inspirational Ohioans of past and present.

“Our organization believes in the life-changing impact of music. It’s what we develop and encourage every day. We hope this video will help heal and inspire our beautiful state.”

The video is now available on Youtube (VIDEO LINK) and the S.T.A.R.S. website at starsworldwide.org. Here is a link to the credits and names of participants.
