Alternative Rockers, Dirty Heads, Bringing South Cali Vibe to Columbus’ Westland Mall Drive-In

COLUMBUS, OH–September 28, 2020–On Sunday, October 25, Alternative rockers, Dirty Heads, will bring their laid back South Cali sound to Prime Social Group’s Westland Mall Drive-In Concert Series. The bands’ music is a unique fusion of hip-hop and reggae with punk influences.

“Dirty Heads are the perfect sound therapy for the current times. Their music is laid back, fun, and a great escape from the every day,” said Zach Ruben, President of Prime Social Group.

The band officially formed in 2003 when punk rocker Dustin Bushnell (a.k.a. Duddy B) asked his friend and rapper Jared Watson (a.k.a. Dirty J), to collaborate on a project focusing on positive vibes and infectious grooves. Later fellow band members Jon Olazabal (percussion), Matt Ochoa (drums), David Foral (bass), and Shawn Hagood (keyboards, vocals) were added to round out the group and add to their extraordinary sound.

The bands’ 2008 debut album, Any Port in a Storm, was quickly followed with a deluxe edition in 2010. The deluxe version featured the track “Lay Me Down” with special guest Rome Ramirez of Sublime with Rome and topped Billboard’s Alternative Songs Chart.

They followed up two years later with Cabin by the Sea and later produced an entire acoustic album in 2013 called Home: Phantoms of Summer. Their breakthrough album came with the 2014 release of  Sound of Change which debuted at number eight on the Billboard Top 200 while simultaneously topping the Independent and Alternative Albums charts.

Their self-titled 2016 follow-up made the Billboard Top 200 and the following year the band dropped its sixth studio album, Swim Team, featuring the singles “Vacation” and “Staloney.” Their most recent album release, Super Moon, includes the popular single “Listen to Me”.
