Latest News: DOWNTOWN COLUMBUS WILL BE HEATING UP THIS SUMMER WITH THE INAUGURAL COLUMBUS FIERY FOODS FESTIVAL PRESENTED BY MGN AND CD102.5 AT THE COLUMBUS COMMONS

Columbus, Ohio —June 12, 2019 — MGN, the Columbus based event firm behind many of the areas award-winning festivals, and CD102.5, the region’s largest independent radio station, are pleased to announce the inaugural Columbus Fiery Foods Festival on Saturday, August 10, 2019 from 2 PM—10 PM at the Columbus Commons. The event will benefit the children’s charity CD102.5 for the Kids and showcase the fiery side of life with restaurants, hot sauce and salsa vendors, and exhibitors from around the country.

Early Bird General Admission for the event is $25 per person (through August 9 or until Sold Out). Day of General Admission tickets are $30 per person. Admission to the event includes 2 (12oz) beers or 2 nonalcoholic beverages, a commemorative engraved fork, 4 large food samples and samples from all of our hot sauce and salsa vendors. Tickets can be purchased through Eventbrite by searching Columbus Fiery Foods Festival or on Facebook @colsfieryfoodsfest.

Confirmed Vendors include: SH’ That’s Hot, Elijah’s Xtreme Hot Sauce, The Latin Flair, Island Noodles, Katies Premium Jerky, Spicy Mike’s Hot Sauce, Double Comfort, Fetty’s Street Food, The Spicy Shark, Mya’s Fried Chicken, Cupzilla, Ena’s Outaroad, Rising Smoke Sauceworks, Mayhem Foods, Clamlube Hot Sauce, Momma can Cook Food Truck, Jeni’s Ice Cream, Taquitos Tacos, Yes You Cayenne, Flavor & Fire, Cottons Kitchen, CaJohns Hot Sauces, Island Noodles. (More vendors to be announced.)

Contests: Amateur Hot Sauce and Salsa, Hot Pizza Eating Contest, Hot Wings Eating Contest, and Hot Pepper Eating Contest.

The day-long celebration is the second festival collaboration between CD102.5 and MGN. “We’re looking forward to producing another event together that fills a much- needed void in the central Ohio festival scene,” said Mike Gallicchio, president MGN. Randy Malloy, president of CD102.5, echoed Gallicchio’s sentiments and added, “Columbus is such a great foodie city and a festival celebrating all things hot and spicy has been needed for a long time.” [MGN and CD102.5 also produce the Columbus Summer Wine Festival.]

Festival-goers can expect to satisfy their need for heat by sampling everything from BBQ to salsa to sweet treats with a kick from various restaurants, hot sauce and salsa makers, and other specialty vendors. The event will also feature a market with crafters and artisans.

About CD102.5 for the Kids

CD102.5 for the Kids was designed as an avenue for WWCD 102.5 to be better utilize the power of the airwaves. Proceeds raised go to accredited organizations that provide support and assistance to children and families in the central Ohio area.
